Elegant Central Iowa Wedding // Austin + Brianna 2.16.19

Austin and Brianna are the kind of people who make you feel loved and known within moments of meeting them, and their wedding day was a beautiful testament of their love for each other and for those they do life with.

The girls started their day at Salon Spa W, where they hung out and got pampered together before heading back to Austin and Brianna’s beautiful home. When I arrived I was just struck by how laid back everybody was! Brianna’s mom and sister helped her put on her dress that looks like it was made just for her. Seriously it was a holy moly drop-dead gorgeous dress on a holy moly-drop dead gorgeous bride, and no, she’s never been a model ;) After the dress was on and earrings were in, Brianna walked out of her room and down the hall where her bridesmaids swooned when they saw her. It was so evident how much they loved her and were excited to be celebrating with her.

The girls finished up little preparations before walking outside, down a snow-dusted driveway, and into a red and gold trolley! The trolley drove down the street to pick up the groomsmen before heading to the red covered bridge at Easter Lake Park where Austin was waiting expectantly for a first look with his bride. Unbeknownst to Austin, Brianna had organized a fun little surprise— instead of seeing her when he turned the first time, he was greeted with the blushing (haha) face of his best man, wearing a girly veil and holding Brianna’s flowers. With a goofy kiss on the cheek Austin sent his best man back to the trolley, and then waited for the real first look.

The anticipation re-built itself while Brianna’s heels clicked on the hard wood of the bridge, and Austin smiled with excitement. When he turned around to see her, the massive amounts of joy evident in each of their faces as they looked at each other just reminded me of why I love doing what I do.

Brianna shared a sweet first look with her dad before we piled back into the trolley to head to a sweet location for bridal party photos, and then to the Iowa Taproom for the rest of their day. Instead of busying themselves with other things, Austin and Brianna shared a tender dance with one another in their empty venue while Can’t Help Falling in Love played from the speakers. (For the record, now that I’ve been a part of something like this I will 10000% recommend it to all of my brides and grooms!)

When all the portraits were done, guests began to arrive and the bridal party hid away. A pianist and violinists gentle music welcomed guests as they arrived and found their seats, and the chatter quieted as the ceremony began. Throughout the ceremony, it was evident that Austin and Brianna’s faith in God was a crucial part of their relationship. Vows and rings were exchanged before they tied a fisherman’s knot to symbolize their bond, one that doesn’t break and only gets stronger under pressure. Austin and Brianna shared communion with one another before sealing their marriage with a kiss.

Austin prayed a blessing over the guests before the rest of the festivities began. The reception kicked off with dinner, cake cutting, and toasts, and was completed with sweet dances, a grandma singing a solo, and freaking gorgeous snowfall to finish things up in such a magical way. Their wedding day was incredibly beautiful and it was an honor for me to be there to witness it.

Check out some of my favorite photos of their day!
