Zach + Sarah // 8.5.17
I've known Sarah since I lived down the street from her while we were just kids and was SO incredibly honored when Sarah asked me to photograph her and Zach's wedding day.
Their wedding day was pure joy. I knew Zach and Sarah (and their wonderful families!) had put a lot of time and energy into making the day beautiful- the details were so thought out and timeless. Sarah and her girls started off getting ready in the house next door to the cute little church that the ceremony would be held in. Sarah sent the girls out of the room so she could put on her beautiful dress, then had a first look with her bridesmaids. Once the girls had seen Sarah, we walked across the yard where Sarah's dad was waiting for her. The moments shared between the two of them for a daddy/daughter first look will be cherished forever... I even teared up. Sarah was so thoughtful of her parents and had personalized gifts made for each of her parents.
Zach and Sarah decided that they wanted to keep things traditional for their wedding, so they did not do a first look. We took care of bridal party pictures separately before the ceremony, then had a couple minutes for Zach and Sarah to gather their thoughts. They stood on opposite sides of a wall and read letters they had written to each other, and then my *almost* favorite part of the day happened... they spent a few minutes praying over their wedding ceremony and over their marriage. This was a perfect way to calm nerves before the rest of the day.
The ceremony was beautiful- the room was full of people who love Zach and Sarah. Every little detail was perfect, and every person involved meant so much to the bride and groom. The ceremony was full of scripture and both sets of parents had the chance to pray over Zach and Sarah during the ceremony. It was obvious that Zach and Sarah's faith is a crucial part of their relationship.
Once their marriage was "official" the bridal party escaped for a short time to Margo Frankel Woods State Park and took pictures of the whole group, then we headed to the reception venue. Zach and Sarah's reception was SO awesome! Instead of dinner, there was an ice cream bar. (Did you catch that?! A FREAKING ICE CREAM BAR!) So many goodies and treats up for grabs! I could see how much Zach and Sarah treasured all of their guests by how they spent time mingling and talking with everyone- they were such a gracious bride and groom. There was a photo booth and some really sweet toasts to wrap things up. Their guests waved ribbon wands to cheer Zach and Sarah on and send them off into married life!
Remember how I said the pre-wedding prayer was my *ALMOST* favorite part?! That's because my favorite part happened after all the festivities were done. Sarah had a delightful idea of taking MORE pictures of the two of them after they left the reception. This took some stress off of them earlier in the day and opened up the door for even more incredible photos as the sun was going down. We drove to a park with a big open field and took our time documenting their love without distractions. It was epic.
These are some of my favorite shots from their wedding day! Enjoy <3
